Easy vegan soy patties
Patties are so easy to make. You can use different types of legumes, veggies, and seasonings. That way you can create a new recipe every time. But this time I created patties out of tvp - textured vegetable protein. This recipe for easy vegan soy patties is so simple to make.
These soy patties are perfectly crunchy from the outside and "meaty" from the inside. They are perfectly flavorful and their consistency is amazing.
You can serve them with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes or even with burgen buns!
The secret ingredient
These patties are not made out of soybeans, however, I used soy meat aka textured vegetable protein.
This ingredient made the patties a little more special and if you crave a meaty texture, these patties are perfect for you.
Soy meat is an amazing ingredient, if you know how to prepare it, you can create super simple and delicious recipes.
Let's make these easy vegan soy patties
Since we are using soy chunks, we need to cook it first.
Start by cooking soy chunks into the water along with some veggie broth seasoning. If you don't have veggie broth seasoning, you can use traditional veggie broth and cook the soy chunks in it.
Cook them for 10-15 minutes, or until they are soft.
Next, drain the remaining water and squeeze the water out of them. I can recommend using a potato masher to squeeze the remaining water out of them.
Now, when the soy chunks are done, put them in a larger bowl with seasonings and mustard.
The seasonings I used:
- garlic - you can use garlic powder
- paprika
- cumin
- black pepper
- marjoram /optional
- salt
Mix everything togeter and now it's time to blend!
Yes, in order to create sticky consistency, you need to blend the mixture. It doesn't have to be perfectly smooth. As long as you are able to create patties you are fine.
Form patties and bake them for about 30 minutes or until golden.
Serve with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes or even with salad! Enjoy!
These easy vegan soy patties are perfect for dinner or fancy lunch. If you are tired of legume patties, now it's time to change things up and try something new!
