I make vegetable/legume patties quite often. They usually require a few ingredients and the final meal is so delicious, like these amazing simple carrot tofu patties. I love to make recipes with tofu. If you know how to season it, you can create such a yummy meal.

To be honest, I had no idea what tofu is when I was in my early teen years. Now, a few years later, I could eat it every day! You can create various types of recipes out of it. It is great in sweet recipes or savory as well. My favorite way of eating tofu sweet is to use it in cheesecake recipes. However, I'm consuming tofu more in savory recipes. And why? It is so easy to make! Like very very easy! If you are using basic unflavored tofu, just season it with some spices and fry it on a par with a little bit of oil. But, If you are lucky, and If you can find smoked tofu at your store, congratulations, you discovered a gold mine! Smoked tofu is just unbelievably delicious. It almost tastes like smoked baked/cheese. I highly recommend you to try smoked tofu. It will change your opinion if you didn't like tofu at all!
How can I make these patties?
Well, this recipe is so simple. You will need just one bowl and all of those ingredients. The first thing is to pour hot water over oats. by doing that the consistency will be so fluffy and very soft, which works the best in this recipe. Then, mash tofu with a potato mashed or fork, whatever works for you. Add the remaining ingredients and you are good to go! Shape the mixture into patties and bake them in the oven. If you are asking if you can fry them on a pan, the answer is yes, but they are not going to be as crispy as baked in the oven. However, try both methods and see what works for you. I always prefer baking them in the oven.
Serve these simple carrot tofu patties with mashed potatoes, into burgers or into tortillas. No matter where you are going to use them, they will taste amazing. This is a really simple and delicious recipe.

1/2 cup gluten-free oats
3/4 cup boiled water
1 tbsp mustard
1 tsp ground red pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1 small grated carrot
- Pour boiling water over the oats and let it sit for about 5-8 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a larger bowl mash tofu, add mustard, spices, grated carrot, and finally cooked oats.
- Mix everything well and form patties. Bake them in the oven at 150 ° C for about 30 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes and fresh salad. Enjoy!
